What are Trustees of a Body Corporate? |
The Trustees are people who are elected by the Body Corporate as their representatives. This is done at an AGM, Annual General Meeting.
The responsibility of the Trustees is to take care of the every day operational tasks and management of the Body Corporate.
The position of a Trustee is one of extreme responsibility and should never be taken lightly. A Trustee is very much like a Director in a company.
The Trustees answer to the Body Corporate becayse they have been elected by the Body Corporate and therefore it is to be understood that the Body Corporate is the “Boss” and the Trustees the “Employees” so to speak, not the other way around. This is often confused by many sectional title owners, thinking that the Trustees are the “Boss”, that is not the case.
